Workshop topics:

All workshops are one-hour, yet, can be expanded based on the level of interaction or your goals. While we are not at this time an Ohio CSWMFT CE Provider, these workshops meet the requirements to be granted CEUs for licensed counselors and social workers.

  • Creating a Compassionate Culture (at Work and Home!) — Leading with compassion takes courage and has become more essential than ever in order to reduce burnout and retain talent. Understanding that compassion starts with you, your self-compassion, this workshop will guide participants through increasing their self-awareness, and better understanding their emotional intelligence (EQ). We’ll focus on active listening, and creating a safe space for communicating with care. Leaders are asked to balance the care and concern for their teams while maintaining productivity and success measures. It is possible to have both!

  • Creating a Courage Tool Kit — This workshop has been created from our popular resource, our Courage Tool Kit, and other available resources that can be found on our website here. Courage helps us face challenges, build resilience, and find strength amidst adversity. Sometimes we need to find the courage to step up and in when we are faced with challenges - finding strength amidst adversity. It takes courage to ask for help. It takes courage to recognize that you aren’t in control. Participants will leave this workshop with additional tools for their Courage Tool Kit, leaving them empowered and energized.

  • Creating Your Self-Care Plan — This workshop focuses on the creation of a self-care plan. The pandemic has caused an increase in mental health challenges. As we emerge from the COVID health crisis, we face a new public health crisis focused on mental health. This workshop will review the components of stress and self-care. It is important to take care of yourself, as well as find techniques to reduce stress and compassion fatigue, ultimately to prevent burnout. At the end of this workshop, participants will leave with a framework for creating a self-care plan.

  • Getting UNstuck: Moving From Languishing to Flourishing If there’s anything we’ve learned from the pandemic, it’s that the world is feeling stressed out and many are burned out - the pandemic has been a source of additional trauma. As the pandemic raged on, many have also felt “blah”, and it turns out there’s a name for that - it’s languishing. We may feel stuck. We can move from languishing to FLOURISHING. It starts with understanding stress, what causes stress, and where we hold stress. Learning ways to cope with stress can help each of us manage our daily lives - moving from survival-mode to thrival-mode. This workshop will cover the difference between compassion fatigue and burnout. We then move into understanding stress and the effects of trauma, including pandemic trauma and stressors.

  • Illuminating Hope in Uncertain Times This workshop focuses on the science of hope and resilience. We believe that hope is an essential component to building resilience. Hope is so much more than “just a wish” - hope is a mindset, an action. Hope can be taught/learned and can become a resilience super-power! Our workshop covers the evidence-based research and science that leads to finding hope and building resilience as well as how to model hope and resilience for our families, clients and colleagues. We share strategies on setting realistic expectations, creating SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-sensitive) goals, and empowering our clients’, colleagues’ and our own motivation. All this leads to greater personal growth and well-being.

  • Moving From Survival to Thrival — Every time we solve a difficult problem, face an uncomfortable situation, or survive a crisis, we build confidence that we can do it again. You have the ability to thrive and grow as you gain coping skills and recognize your strengths and limits. Know what you can do, and know when to ask for help. You can be confident as you cope and manage the stress of daily life.

  • Setting Boundaries for Healthy Relationships — Knowing your limits and setting expectations can help you nurture your own wellness! Developing, setting, and communicating your boundaries benefits both you and those you support.

  • Supporting Suicide Loss Survivors — Supporting someone who has lost someone to suicide can be especially difficult. They’ve suffered a traumatic loss and are facing traumatic and likely complicated grief. Understanding the special nuances, being aware of suicide triggers in a trauma-informed way, as well as navigating a sensitive mental health conversation is essential. This workshop provides greater understanding as to what to say (and not to say), and addresses blame/shame, as told from a suicide loss survivor experience.

  • Suicide Awareness and Prevention in the Workplace — We are certified leaders of Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training - three steps anyone can learn to prevent suicide. This workshop provides information on identifying suicide risk factors and warning signs, as well as creating an action plan.

  • Understanding Stress — We often talk about feeling stressed. Understanding what causes stress, what it looks and feels like for each person, and learning ways to cope with stress can help each of us manage our daily lives. Participants will leave this workshop with healthy coping strategies and techniques to reduce stress and prevent burnout.

  • Custom Workshops Based on our Curriculum — We have a robust innovative curriculum of 12 themes and 52 topics - all tools that build resilience. We design customized workshops based on our curriculum to meet the needs of agencies and organizations. You can see the variety of themes and topics on our theme/topic list here.

All workshops have the option of adding a 45-minute breathing meditation. We would begin with one of our Breathing Meditation Facilitators presenting a breathing meditation focused on the topic, as an embodied experience. It would include teaching a breathing technique, affirmations/intentions, light movement/chair yoga, and a guided meditation centered on the topic.

The leader will share the science behind the benefits of breathing and meditation in navigating stress. Research has documented how regulated deep breathing can reduce anxiety and depression, decrease feelings of stress, improve muscle relaxation and increase energy levels. We have found that utilizing proper breathing techniques is vital to the regulation of our stress levels.
